Frankenstein Art Print (Ruth Matthews – Artist)
At LitVox, Frankenstein is a firm favourite. Written way back in 1818 by Mary Wollstencraft Shelley, it is all at once the original science fiction novel, as well as the novel that popularised horror stories for the masses. There have been hundreds of iterations of Frankenstein’s monster down the years, most obviously the Hollywood-inspired, green, bolts in the neck lumbering zombie. This odd, dark and brilliant interpretation by Dublin artist Ruth Matthews is much more faithful to Shelley’s original depiction of the dark monster.
