The Lord of the Flies Art Print (Tom Hoban – Artist)
William Golding’s Lord of the Flies is one of the greatest explorations of human nature in literary history. It tells the story of a group of English schoolboys stranded on an uninhabiated island. As they wait to be rescued, their fragile sense of order slowly fades, and their thoughts and actions take on a sinister, primal character. It was first published in 1954. It has become a staple text in schools, but deserves to be read by everyone, if only for the dark and haunting truth at the heart of its narrative. There have been a few film adaptations, but nothing has come close to conveying the sense of menace and fear portrayed in the novel. Tom Hoban is the artist behind this print.
