Sally Rooney’s Normal People is one of the most renowned novels of recent years. It follows the interweaving stories of Marianne and Connell through their secondary school years to their first years of University in Dublin. The novel beautifully depicts their physical intimacy, while also exploring the emotinal gulf that grows between them as their characters change down the years. A beautiful, profound and sad work, Normal People has captivated thousnads of readers since its release in 2018. The accompanying TV show helped bring the novel to thousands more fans upon release in 2020.
