The False Rose
Sally Jones and her friend the Chief are working hard, trying to repair their beloved ship The Hudson Queen, when they discover a beautiful and very valuable pearl necklace hidden onboard. Their search for the rightful owner takes them all the way to the Glasgow docks, where they discover the true story of the necklace, but before they can continue their journey Sally Jones is kidnapped and drawn into the city’s shadowy gangster underworld.
Sally will need all her strength and cunning to escape from the gang’s clutches, find The Chief and return the necklace to where it belongs.
About the Author
Jakob Wegelius is a Swedish writer and illustrator who lives and works in the small village of Mörtfors. The False Rose is his sequel to The Murderer’s Ape, which won the August Prize for Best Children’s Book and the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize.
